Senate Bill - 133
How does SB-133 affect the title industry? For many title representatives SB-133 has changed their entire world, for me, not so much. As a matter of fact, i'm glad that this new law is in effect. It will ultimately help everyone but especially the consumer.
I never needed the “illegal” stuff, which I’m sure you know was out there, to earn your title orders. I have ALWAYS earned my business by providing a higher level of title service than my competitors. It’s this high level of service and knowledge that helps my clients earn more business and close more deals, thus allowing me to EARN their business.
Are all of our services the same after SB-133? Unfortunately, not… The Department of Insurance has restricted some basic services that we’ve always offered, IE: No more bulk mail labels, leads, in depth property information, school reports... However, I can direct you to companies that can provide the solutions that we are no longer able to offer.
All in all; hopefully, SB-133 will do what it’s intended to do. Eliminate the criminal element from our industry. As for you, my Realtor and Lender clients out there… never fear! I am still here and I know how to do title right!!!
